Step by step

Five steps, zero downtime.

  1. Step 1

    Create mailboxes

Add your domain and a MailCRO mailbox for every address you use, aliases included.

  2. Step 2

    Prepare the old account

Enable IMAP with your current provider and create app passwords where needed.

  3. Step 3

    Copy your mail

Folders, read status and flags come across intact, while the old account keeps working.

  4. Step 4

    Verify

Check folders and message counts. Import calendars (.ics) and contacts (.vcf).

  5. Step 5

    Switch DNS

Update MX, SPF, DKIM and DMARC. A final sync catches mail sent during the switch.

Important: only change your DNS after the migration is verified. Changes usually apply within 1 to 24 hours, so keep your old account for another 48 to 72 hours as a safety net.

Checklist

Before you switch.

When you’re ready, we send every DNS record to add at your registrar, with a plain-language explanation, and check them with you.

  • List every mailbox and alias you use today
  • Note who has access to your DNS settings
  • Enable IMAP and create app passwords on the old provider
  • Export calendars (.ics) and contacts (.vcf)
  • Lower your DNS TTL to 5 minutes a day before switching
  • Reconnect phones and desktop apps after the switch
